Amman, May 5 (Petra) -- A man died and three police officers were injured on Tuesday in a drugs crackdown in Western Amman, Public Security Directorate (PSD) said. PSD Spokesman Maj. Mohammad Khatib said that an Anti-Narcotics taskforce was on an official operation to crack down on a group of drug suspects in a house in an Amman town, adding that a fight erupted when the group tried to resist and obstruct the officers. He added that one of the assailants was injured in the fight and evacuated to a nearby hospital where doctors later pronounced him dead. One of the wounded officers sustained serious injuries and investigations are underway, Khatib said.
